Shanil Lal

Principal Solicitor

Shanil is a highly skilled and knowledgeable corporate lawyer with more than 10 years of legal experience working middle market and institutional deals at top tier and global firms in Sydney including MinterEllison, PwC, Norton Rose Fulbright and Clayton Utz, having started his career as a cadet in PwC’s HNWI tax team.

Shanil is highly experienced in end-to-end legal aspects of M&A transactions – including both buy side and sell side due diligence as well as transaction document drafting and negotiation. While developing his transactional experience, Shanil has also advised many individual clients on their general business and commercial affairs as well as the personal affairs of individuals and business owners.

Career transactional highlights during his career at law firms include:

  • advising Eastern Plant Hire on its sale to Delta Group

  • advising Teoh Capital on its acquisition of TransVirtual

  • advising Vodafone Hutchison Australia on the proposed merger with TPG Telecom (ASX:TPG) (5G auction/competition and corporate components)

  • advising L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:HRS) on its acquisition of Linchpin Labs and Azimuth Security, two information security businesses

  • advising Technology Crossover Ventures on its Series D investment in SiteMinder

  • advising Francisco Partners on its Series A investment in PetCircle

  • advising Allectus Capital and ICM Limited on their c.$40m sale of Vix Verify to GB Group plc
